As we continue to grow we are looking to add a Director of Operations for British Columbia to the Scandi Family!

What your day to day will look like:

  • Work with the two Regional Directors to create a strategic plan for any roll outs or launches with assigned clients
  • Manage client escalations, ensuring satisfaction and permanent resolution
  • Develop and grow client relationships for key accounts
  • Communicate with staff to resolve performance and personnel problems; discuss and implement company policies and procedures
  • Assist and encourage staff to provide solutions and ideas to improve processes or resolve issues when they arise

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Minimum of 10 years managerial/ leadership experience with mid-senior level reports
  • Post secondary education in Business or Management is preferred
  • Proven success in Project and Operational Management
  • Excellent people management skills with demonstrated ability to grow key client relationships and strategically overcome internal challenges or obstacles

What your day to day will look like:

  • Assemble and update Health and Safety binders for the region including; training, compliance, safety performance and inspection reports and hazard assessments.
  • Distribute safety communications and collect sign offs for all locations in the region.
  • Complete site visits weekly to conduct inspections of Scandinavian equipment and janitorial rooms at the regional offices and warehouses. Developing appropriate corrective or preventative actions to improve compliance with health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Support the Health and Safety Director with internal and external audit requirements including safety recognitions and certifications.
  • Work with the Health and Safety Director to ensure certification standards are consistently met.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • This is an entry level role we’re happy to train the right candidate.
  • Must have a post secondary education or completed courses in Health and Safety or similar field.
  • Must own a reliable vehicle travel within region is expected for site visits once a week with 1 overnight travel every 5-6 weeks.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to get along with different personalities and build strong long lasting relationships with clients.
  • Top notch communication skills; this role will be communicating Health and Safety processes, procedures, policies and training to a variety of departments in the organization and to various client groups.

Scandinavian Building Services seeks an experienced Account Manager to support the business through management, development and execution of company standards. Account Managers work directly with the leadership and operations team for each region, reporting to the Regional Director or Vice President. As the primary contact for account operations, the Account Managers execute; project management, client strategies, create professional relations, increase quality assurance and strive for growth within the company while achieving company goals.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage, integrate and facilitate the overall operations of multiple contracts.
  • Provide Managerial Leadership involving mentorship and coaching to all staff (lead by example).
  • Develop and train staff to meet Scandinavian standards and requirements.
  • Recruitment and termination
  • Support and maintain internal and external client relations in the industry.
  • Maintain and manage high quality cleaning service at all contracts.
  • Manage operation and staff budget for all contracts.
  • Ensure all Scandinavian Safety Standards are followed and maintained.
  • Strong computer skills involving company software and various other computer programs like Microsoft Office (Microsoft Outlook, Excel and internal Software)
  • Administration and completion of paperwork on a timely manner.
  • Team connection and project management meetings.

External Qualifications

  • 2-3 years in a supervisory role in the cleaning industry.
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills in English (French is an asset)
  • Ambitious, enthusiastic and enjoys working in a fast paced environment.

  • Flexibility and adaptability required
